Weep No More by Pastor Kim by Pastor Kim Montenegro

Sometimes I am asked what is my favorite scripture. I find that very hard to answer because I have so many depending on the situation and what is going on around me and in me. One January morning in my family’s Bible Study was Isaiah 30:18-22.

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;

For the Lord is a God of justice.

Blessed are all who wait for him!

People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious God will be when you cry for help! As soon as God hears, God will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

THIS spoke to me! Isaiah reminds us that throughout time, we are not the only ones to rely on our own strength instead of trusting in God. How many times have we called out to the Lord in the night weeping? Have you ever struggled to hear God speak to you in hard times and all you were able to do was weep? We can’t always know what causes our hard times. There are often times when we do know, but aren’t able to articulate it into words. In any situation, God stands ready to give grace and mercy and lead us in God’s way. There is not a limit to the amount of grace and love God is willing to extend to us. Look around, even as you are crying out, you will see where God’s grace has already been extended to you in your life. Know that you are loved by God, and there is nothing you can do to separate yourself from the love of God even in your moments of despair!

Blessings,

Pastor Kim
