“This parent-participation preschool is the best, we are so lucky to have found such a gem! It is a gift to be able to help out Mrs. White once per month in the classroom and see my 3-yr-old son learning and growing with his friends. They have a nice balance of free creative playtime and structured learning time. Although the curriculum is not "religious", they incorporate a blessing before snack and short chapel time on Fridays (an option), which I appreciate in teaching the beginnings of gratitude and spirituality to my son. The field trips are great, the other parents are so welcoming and generous, and the staff are exceptional in their care and interest for the children. A fantastic preschool.”

Painting, music and movement, outside playtime for gross motor development, dramatic play, opportunity for choice, group circle, and snack time all provided opportunities for our children to learn and practice skills vital to their whole development. The values at LMS closely parallel our family’s value system, so going to school for my children was like an extension of home. Also, our family has formed lasting relationships through our LMS experience which has been an added bonus that we did not expect, but have found to be a gift. "LMS is a great parent participation preschool. It has a relaxed atmosphere and low student to teacher ratios with warm and loving teachers. The themed curriculum is a nice combination of creative play, songs, dancing, music, art, social interaction, and books/reading. Each class gets slightly more academic, with the oldest class learning letters, writing, etc. It is very nice to have a place to send your children that you know your children are happy and safe. As a bonus, it is an affordable option also.”

I spoke with the director of Little Methodist School about their four year old classroom and explained to her that our son had not had any positive preschool experiences and had been mainly only taken care of by family. She told me not to worry and to bring him to their Thanksgiving program to meet his classmates and teacher. The teacher graciously showed our son the classroom and explained a little of what school was all about. It was such a great match for our son – small class size, caring, driven teachers, and a wonderful learning environment. The quaintness of the school, and the warm feeling from the teachers is what drew us in and what has kept us there. The fact that it is parent participation made it even more perfect for us. My daughter will be going to Kindergarten this year, and I am confident that she is prepared academically and socially. The school has focused on enhancing so many aspects of the children’s lives. This has successfully been accomplished through the devotion of the teachers and the dedication of the parents. As we venture off to Kindergarten, it is bittersweet. We will miss Little Methodist School, but we are so happy with the experience we have had. With another baby on the way, I look forward to being back at Little Methodist School in a few years!”
