HEIFER CLOTHING DRIVE:
OCTOBER 1-31, 2017
The Heifer International Ministry is excited to sponsor this unique fundraiser to help us towards our goal of filling an ark. California Clothing Recyclers (www.californiaclothing.net) is a leader in the used clothing industry, serving the Sacramento region and Northern California. Annually they divert close to 3.5 million lbs. of unwanted used clothing from Sacramento area landfills. How do they do this? Organizations like ours hold clothing drives and California Clothing Recyclers pays $0.10 per pound for what we collect. Then California Clothing Recyclers sorts the clothes: usable clothing is sold in developing countries for pennies and unusable clothing is shredded and recycled into industrial rags. And that is what makes this opportunity so unique — California Clothing Recyclers accepts items that are torn, stained, and unwearable! Lots of charities and organizations want your gently used items but we want your UNgently used items too! What can be collected? Women’s - Men’s - Children’s clothing; shoes – purses – belts – hats; table linens; bath linens; bed linens; and stuffed animals. Contacts: Dedra Beauchamp, Virginia Guffey
